recommended installation-method? (aka troubleshooting)

$

hi,

which installation method is recommend to get a fully working client (including netdiscovery, netinventory and esx functionality)

I can't get new clients to reliably work on net-xxx tasks (Computer inventory works almost fine)

I now tried an Ubuntu Server (Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS) with fusioninventory from http://debian.fusioninventory.org/debian/. (installed optional dependencies before)

Discovery seems to work fine, but on netinventory tasks only one device (network or printer) gets inventoried correctly (status successful), all other device-tasks stay on status running. (although the agent on the computer shows status available.)

Agent-Version: 2.3.15-1
GLPI-Version:   0.85.4
Plugin-Version: 0.85+1.1

Any ideas or advices, how we could address this issue?

(advices regarding Windows-Agents would be welcome too. we tried to switch to the linux-agent because of problems there too)

thanks in advance

Same here...

If I set "Module Method" as NetworkDiscovery with IP Range and Agent (who support SNMP Query and have it enabled), and then go to Setup->Automatic Actions to Execute manually the "cron" work fine. But if I set Network Inventory (SNMP) no job is created, no prepared, no error... anything. Wath is wrong?

Here is some images:
goo.gl/btzO0s
goo.gl/RqcUGx
goo.gl/8vW5qO

And this happen with SNMP:
goo.gl/coQJHa
goo.gl/PD9tuQ

Some captures of my Agent:

goo.gl/pwecJY

Thanks in advance!

Is taskscheduler running? (Setup -> Automatic actions)

Yes, and I run it manually.... Work with netowork inventory common, but not in SNMP. Look like  "no agent for this job" or "No device to inventory"  problem... But no error is reported.

Default values for imported software

Hello!

This is my first post and I would like to thank you all for a splendid open-source application which makes everyones life sooooo much easier.

I have only one question:

Once I installed FI agents in my company, it started to fill up all the software installed on every computer and that is great, but this imported software is also visible within tickets - asociatable for tickets (ie. KB updates, and so on). I would like to import the software but I don't want it to be visible (asociatable) for tickets. Is there any way to make the imported software not visible for tickets as a default value for FusionInventory import?

Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,
B

Hello All,

how do discovery and inventory SNMP work? Do they use "discovery.xml" ([glpi_folder]/files/_plugins/fusioninventory/discovery.xml) file to associate a device to a model?

What should i do when a device goes to "unknown devices" with type in blank?

Thanks in advances,

Alexandre

I've edited sysobject.ids file in share/fusioninventory. I've put a new line with the model OID.

Now how to get more information? For example, serial number is in blank.

Running with debug option, mac address is coming (with different format - no colons) but it doesn't appear at GLPI interface.

Mirror server not working - How to set up?

$

Hi guys,

I've already set up a mirror server using the following instructions:

https://lists.alioth.debian.org/piperma … 00556.html

I have a server named "corolla" running apache, and scheduled to rsync all the folders and files located in glpi/files/_plugins/fusioninventory/files/repository in my GLPI server (called "viper"). I then created an apache alias named "mirror-glpi-viper" pointing to the path of the copied files, so the mirror url is "corolla/mirror-glpi-viper". In GLPI, I left the mirror location in blanks, so the mirror should always take precedency.

The problem is fusioninventory would never use the mirror server, but only the original GLPI server. The docs don't explain how to use it, so I'm very confused. Should I have another GLPI server for that?

Any help?

Thanks in advance!

Task Timing

Since Fusion inventory 0.85+1.0 the task scheduling changed, and I don’t get how it works. How wood one implement the following scenario:
I like to wake up all my clients with a wake on lan task every Sunday at 8:00. An exact timing is important, because the clients have to run a virus scan triggered by another software.
My first thought was to create a timeslot (8:00 – 8:15) but as far I can see this would only advise the agent to run the WOL task not outside this time slot instead of forcing it to run it during this time. Am I right at this?

FusionInventory for GLPI Plugin

Glpi version 0.84
FusionInventory plugin 0.84+2.2

We are seeing a strange behavior on the plugin status when going to Plugin List. our FusionInventory Status is "To Update" and the upgrade button is available. When clicking on the upgrade button, looks like the plugin goes thru the motion of upgrading. Enable option will then be available and I was able to enable the plugin. However, the status reverts back to Status "To Update" again.
Does anyone know the proper procedure to resolve this?

Thanks,
folsewire

Verify you have php module fileinfo enabled and you don't have in glpi/plugins/ the folders: 'fusinvinventory', 'fusinvsnmp', 'fusinvdeploy'

hello,
I've verified that pho module is enabled and there are no other folders in /glpi/plugins other than fusioninventory.

Thanks and let me know if you have other suggestions.
