Ok my host provider installed the fileinfo extension and it seems the plugin is running
During instalation appeared the following message: "PHP Warning: shell_exec() has been disabled for security reasons in glpi/plugins/fusioninventory/inc/lock.class.php at line 583"
Tomorow I will test from one of my computers I hope it will run.

Thx.

Not but you can modify import rules

Automatic Inventory - Exclude/Blacklist

Hi,
i am working in a litle it deparment and thought about trying glpi + fusioninventory to create a clean inventory system.

Everythings works quite well in my test setup. The whole system works on a small Atom based server....

But after my first automatic import with the agent i have a few questions.

Is there a easy way (rule, blacklist) to exclude objects from being added to the database?
i saw an entry in the bug tracker but it was several years old.

For example i dont want to import virtual printers, those are 2-4 devices on every pc that are not needed.
the same goes for dummy graphic devices...

Another issue i have is the software import.
fusioninventory seems to import everything out of the system, hundres of KBXXXXXX updates, every office update, msi strings and so on.
The test System had arround 600 of software entries, i would like to display/import barely 10% of this and exclude all security updates from windows/office and so on. any easy way to do this.

I hope someone can help me out.

PS: im running glpi 0.84.4 and fusioninventory 0.84+2.0, client is 2.3.5

In general config of plugin fusioninventory, you can say import only printer have serial number (so only USB printers)

For software, use GLPI dictionnary to ignore import of some of them

thanks for the fast reply! the serialnumber option works great.

as for the dictionary solution? do you have a helpfull link? i found the option in glpi but have no idea how to configure it to exclude certain software names...

PS: i have activated the device import with the serialnumber option as well so it wont add keyboard/mouse, but it still add USB masstorage devices. can i fix this with the dictionary solution as well?

computer inventory - physical network cards problem

Hi,
maybe this is a bug or its normal...
im using the 2.3.5 agent with the latest GLPI plugin.

I have configured the plugin to import network cards, only controllers, virtual network adapters and network drives are deactivated.
The automatic inventory works fine with all other components (cpu, graphics, audio) but physical network cards wont be added a components. The correct model shows up in the ports tab, atleast on Windows Clients, Linux shows only eth0 but is not connected to any physical card.
Anyone else noticed this?

Same issue here.  Agent on GLPI server (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS) works fine and shows up.  When I try and do a network discovery it says "No agent for task".  I am unable to find any documentation on how to actually configure this component.

Good day!

I've been trying to create at SNMP model. After I entered the sysdescr of my UPS in SNMP model creation, I've been encountering this error and it seems that it's looping.
"Somebody work now on this, retry in 1 hour"

im using glpi 0.84+2.0 fusioninventory.
i also have a problem with networkinventory, atleast on my windows clients.

I have one windows pc with fusioninventory (2.3.5) and installed the netinventory component (in the installer) together with inventory, netdiscovery and wol.
inventory and netdiscover work fine, and get listed on the agents page, tho netinventory wont (as well as wol).

I told glpi/fusioninventory that this component is installed on the client but when running a task it gives me the error "no agent found for this task" (netinventory) and with wol nothing happens at all.

My glpi server is running linux mint 13 and i installed every component of the agent (Inventory 2.1.10, Networkinventory 1.3 and networkdiscovery 1.5).
WOL as well as Netinventory works fine from this "client".

maybe there is a firewall rule missing on the windows clients?

PS: windows agent is x64

to Developers: calculating Remaining toner % Value from 2 OIDs

To FusionInventory Developers:

First of all – Big Thanx for a Great Job you have done, it really good tools for IT.
Now, after dealing with some printer inventories and SNMP models I have some questions:

1.    Not all printers returns OID with Toner/Drum remaining % value (HP and Lexmarks do, but Samsung, Xerox and Brother in my case – do not!) – so my question is – Is any other way to present an Information by FusionInventory Plugin that base not on a simple value from specific OID, but a some CALCULATED VALUE made from values taken from 2 different OIDS.
2.    After making some research of OIDs of Samsung and Brother printers I have noticed that that return to OIDs with values that can be useful: DRUM/TONER capacity value and DRUM/Toner remaining value – so it will be ease to calculate an Remaining Percentage for a printer from these 2 values.

So I am asking – is it possible to make those calculations and present it on Printers FusionInventory Tag instead /or additionally for those printers that returns instead of percent value some INTEGER= -3 (that means in Brothers case – there is some toner in place)
Thanks Again
Michael

Have you tested the agent without SNMP models (you can do it since agent 2.3.4) ?
